LEARN TO SEW: Using an overlocker is the most comprehensive course on overlocking and searching that there IS! I know - because I have bought them all....
STARTS: 9th November 2023
The truth is: Most sewists try to make friends with their overlocker (or serger), but never quite get there because it just feels too complicated.
The reality is: Without getting to really know your overlocker, you’ll continue to struggle, and it’s not down to a lack of effort on your part…
• You try endless google searches and you get bombarded with adverts and unclear tutorials
• You try fiddling with the tension and you end up feeling frustrated and dissatisfied because you don’t know what it all means
• You buy all the books but you still don’t understand and you end up just sticking to the simplest stitch
That’s why I created LEARN TO SEW: Using an overlocker - for sewists just like you, who want to make friends with their overlocking machines, and are tired of not knowing where to begin.
A 5 module, 100 lesson, intensive course packed with everything you need to know to not just make friends with your machine, but to move past the ‘first date’ and live together happily forever more!
WHAT IF YOU COULD...
- Feel excited about overlocking and be able to enjoy sewing more advanced projects
- Run up the garments of your dreams in just a few hours, without any stress
- Experience less overwhelm and be more excited about overlocking, with no fear of the knife or the threads

When are the zoom calls - and do I have to attend?
We know that some people don’t like appearing on video calls, or have lives which don’t allow them to. These calls are so friendly, and supportive and are there for you to ask your questions and share your highs (and lows) They will take place every Thursday evening at 8pm GMT. We will record them if you can’t make them and they will be uploaded within 24 hours, into your course area in the Academy.
Do I need anything special?
It is expected that students will already have an overlocker, and will probably have a stash of scraps or offcuts in their homes.
There are projects embedded in this course to consolidate the learning, but they are optional. If you have a half metre of CL jersey and a half metre of something woven, or scraps of a variety of different fabrics you will have enough to complete the learning.
You will need access to the printer for the worksheets.
4 cones of overlocker thread (can be bought after course starts)
